Ahh I love watching from afar as you move further away from the five-paragraph structure and throw the rulebook to the wind! I’m fully just out here wandering too.

This exercise definitely works for my particular brain/writing style, but honestly I feel like any version of “take the thing that’s not working, chop it up, move stuff around and see what happens” is bound to unlock something. 🤷‍♀️ Let me know of you try it!

lol I feel like I’m just out in the wilderness on my essays now that I’ve thrown away the “thought leader” playbook and so I love all the process info. I’m not sure I totally understand this cut the thing up process (esp bc I feel like I don’t know where my essay is going yet) but I’ll come back to it when my brain is fresh.

Would love to hear if you do! It's wild how easily I forget that taking things off-screen has a way of making everything feel clearer (or at least, making me feel less like a dead-eyed zombie staring at my draft 🥴)
